Comedian Nigel Ng, famously known as Uncle Roger, and his wife Sabrina Ahmed are set to welcome their first child, the couple announced on social media today (20 February).
In an Instagram post marking both Lunar New Year and the start of Ramadan, Nigel shared photos of himself and Sabrina, dressed in celebratory attire, posing with an ultrasound scan.
He wrote, "New nephew coming soon! Happy Lunar New Year and Ramadan Mubarak," playfully referencing his online persona's habit of calling fans his "nieces and nephews".
The announcement triggered an outpouring of congratulatory messages from followers and celebrity peers, including celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay and other content creators.
From his Instagram account, Gordon wrote, "Such great news congratulations to you both Uncle & Auntie."
Another user wrote: "Uncle Roger gonna be Grandpa Roger soon."
Youtuber Rafsan also wrote to congratulate the couple, saying, "Congratulations uncle and auntyy."
Nigel rose to international prominence through his viral comedy persona Uncle Roger, a satirical character known for critiquing cooking videos with catchphrases such as "haiyaa" and "fuiyoh". He has since built a global fan base across social platforms.
His work spans stand-up comedy, digital content and international tours. He has also ventured into food entrepreneurship with rice-focused eateries in Malaysia.
Nigel and Sabrina, a Miami-based lawyer of Bangladeshi-Arab heritage, married in July 2025 during a three-day celebration in Sintra, Portugal, blending Malaysian, Chinese and Bengali cultural traditions.
Fans described the announcement as a joyful start to the year, celebrating both the personal milestone and its alignment with cultural and religious festivities.
