'So lucky to have each other': Millie shuts down rumours of rift with David at Stranger Things S5 premiere
Millie, 21, who plays Eleven, and Harbour, 50, who portrays her on-screen father Hopper, arrived together and shared warm interactions, laughter, and posed for photos — signalling that their bond remains intact.
Amid swirling rumours of tension between Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour, the two appeared together on the red carpet at the premiere of the show's fifth and final season — seemingly putting all speculation to rest.
The star-studded event took place Thursday night (6 November) at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, reports Hindustan Times.
Millie, 21, who plays Eleven, and Harbour, 50, who portrays her on-screen father Hopper, arrived together and shared warm interactions, laughter, and posed for photos — signalling that their bond remains intact.
Just days earlier, reports had surfaced alleging that Millie had filed a complaint against Harbour for bullying and harassment, triggering an internal Netflix investigation. However, their cordial appearance and mutual appreciation at the premiere appeared to refute those claims.
Speaking to Extra TV, Millie said, "It's been amazing. We're so lucky to have each other. For the show, it means so much to both of us and to everyone here. This has been the last ten years of our lives — we've dedicated a lot of it, and we're so excited to see that come to screen."
The comments and their camaraderie on the red carpet quickly went viral, with fans expressing relief that the duo's father-daughter chemistry off-screen still mirrored their on-screen relationship.
Series creators Matt Duffer and producer Shawn Levy also addressed the controversy, stressing that the Stranger Things team is like family.
"I can't get into personal on-set matters, but we've been doing this for ten years with this cast, and at this point, they're family. Nothing matters more than having a set where everyone feels safe and happy," said Duffer.
Levy echoed the sentiment, adding, "There's been a lot of noise, but the truth is we view this cast and crew as family. We treat each other with respect—that's always been the foundation."
While neither actor has publicly commented on the allegations, their united front appears to have silenced the rumours.
What is the controversy?
Earlier this week, Radaronline.com reported that Millie, 21, filed a formal complaint against David Harbour, 50, prompting an internal investigation by Netflix.
An insider told Radaronline.com, "Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months."
