Mosharraf Karim plays a stand-up comic in Dimlight
Actor Mosharraf Karim steps into unfamiliar territory in the upcoming Chorki original film Dimlight, where he plays a stand-up comedian for the first time. The film, directed by Saraf Ahmed Zibon, forms part of the platform's Ministry of Love project and examines a man wrestling with the haze of midlife crisis through humour.
Chorki teased Karim's return with hints of "a new persona" and posts alluding to the anxieties of middle age. Director Zibon says the story attempts to show how personal struggles often remain invisible without the right perspective: "You cannot see anything in harsh glare or total darkness. You need dim light to notice what's hidden."
Karim views the film's themes through everyday experience, noting how routine pressures gradually smother intimacy. "Layers keep building up," he says. "Slowly love disappears, and you need a jolt to realise where the heart has gone."
Tanzika Amin and Parsa Evana appear alongside Karim, both describing the script as timely, relatable and grounded in the small confusions of contemporary relationships.
Dimlight is the sixth instalment in the Ministry of Love series. Chorki executives say the gap since the previous film reflects a deliberate commitment to quality, with the team confident the new release will justify the wait.
