Judge rejects Diddy’s request to delay trial

Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex trafficking trial will begin as scheduled on 5 May , despite his lawyers requesting a two-month delay to prepare. At a Manhattan court hearing Friday, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that the defense has sufficient time, stating he would not allow a "fishing expedition" for more evidence.
Combs, 55, has been held without bail since his September arrest and has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege he used his influence to coerce and exploit women for years, involving blackmail, violence, and events called "Freak Offs."
The judge ruled that accusers can testify under pseudonyms for safety and denied the defence's request to dismiss charges. After the hearing, Combs gave his mother and supporters a thumbs-up. His lawyers argue the government is misrepresenting consensual relationships. The trial is expected to last 8-10 weeks.
