Jackie Chan to receive lifetime achievement at Locarno Film Festival
Martial arts legend Jackie Chan will receive the prestigious 'Pardo alla Carriera' achievement award at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival, a major international film festival held annually in Switzerland, which will run from 6 to 16 August.
The honour will be presented on 6 August, followed by screenings of Chan's classic films 'Project A' (1983) and 'Police Story' (1985). On 10 August, Chan will join audiences for a special Q&A session.
Festival Artistic Director Giona A Nazzaro praised Chan as a transformative force in global cinema, noting his blend of stunt work, comedy, and choreography. "In cinema, there is a before Jackie Chan and an after Jackie Chan," he stated. Chan joins a distinguished list of past recipients, including Shah Rukh Khan, Jane Birkin, and Harry Belafonte.
