Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ stuns at Venice Film Festival

Guillermo del Toro's ambitious adaptation of 'Frankenstein' premiered at the Venice Film Festival, marking the fulfillment of a decades-long dream for the director.
Years ago, Netflix's Ted Sarandos greenlit both 'Pinocchio' and 'Frankenstein' after del Toro named them as bucket-list projects. Following the success of 'Pinocchio' in 2022, 'Frankenstein' now arrives with Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as his tragic creation.
Originally set to star Andrew Garfield, Elordi joined late after scheduling conflicts. The film, structured in three parts, also features Christoph Waltz and Mia Goth.
Del Toro, emotional at the film's completion, likened the experience to "postpartum depression," calling the project a lifelong passion. Isaac described working with del Toro as a transformative journey.
