Anisul Huq sent to jail in SCBA polls rigging case

A Dhaka court today (15 November) sent former law minister Anisul Huq to jail in a case lodged over rigging of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) polls in 2019.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza passed the order as police produced Huq before the court after the end of his five-day remand and pleaded to keep him behind bars in the case lodged with Shahbagh Police Station.

Supreme Court lawyer ABM Ibrahim Khalil filed the case on 30 September for allegedly getting SCBA members attacked by police and Awami League cadres on 15 March 2019, and rigging the polls, using fake ballots.
