"We received information that several armed individuals had gathered in Block A-6 of Jamtoli camp early Monday with the intention of committing criminal activities. A joint team from RAB, BGB, and APBn was deployed to conduct a raid. Upon reaching the site, the suspect attempted to flee but was arrested," said Abul Kalam.

"During a search, we recovered one locally made gun and two rounds of ammunition from his possession," he added.

The RAB official also said that the arrested individual is an active member of the Myanmar-based militant group Arsa and has been involved in various crimes, including kidnapping, extortion, and arms dealing.

Additional Superintendent of police Md Abul Kalam Chowdhury also said that a case has been filed against the detainee at Ukhiya police station under the relevant laws.
