New secretaries appointed to power division, sports ministry
The additional secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture has been promoted and appointed as the secretary of the Power Division
The government has appointed new secretaries to the Power Division and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as per a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration today (6 October).
Farzana Momtaz, the additional secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been promoted and appointed as the secretary of the Power Division.
This follows the upcoming post-retirement leave (PRL) of the current Senior Secretary of the Power Division, Md Habibur Rahman, who will begin his leave on 9 October.

The PRL notification for Md Habibur Rahman has already been issued.
Meanwhile, Md Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, additional secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, has been promoted and appointed as the secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports through a separate notification.
Additionally, Abu Morshed Zaman, previously serving as secretary of the Local Government Division, has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Suraiya Akhter Jahan, who was also OSD, has been appointed as the chairman of the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation.
