BUFT organises human chain to prevent Environmental Disaster
BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organised a human chain on September 30, 2024.
The human chain was organised to prevent the eviction of populated settlements, including the construction site of a university playground, academic buildings, local mosques, madrasas, and cemeteries, all threatened by the proposed construction of sewage treatment plants. Prof Dr Eng led the protest. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, students, staff, and residents.
Speakers called on authorities to prioritise environmental protection and reconsider the project, emphasising the importance of maintaining a harmonious balance between development and nature to ensure a healthy living and educational environment.
