Fintra, Investaloy host ‘Investing, Explained’ seminar at BRAC University

Fintra and Investaloy, in collaboration with BRAC University, hosted "Investing, Explained," a beginner-friendly stock market seminar at the university campus.

The session brought together over 100 enthusiastic students for a simple, practical introduction to investing, reflecting the shared mission of Fintra and Investaloy to make financial markets more accessible to Bangladesh's emerging generation of investors, according to a press release.

The programme featured opening remarks by Fahmida Rahman, Programme Director and Senior Lecturer at BRAC University's School of General Education, and Nabil Bin Arif, Assistant Director of the university's Civic Engagement Cell. The keynote address was delivered by Tahmid Mahmud, Director at Fintra, who highlighted the impact of financial literacy among students and introduced essential tools to evaluate before making investment decisions.

Investaloy instructors Bidyut Kanti Das and Ziaur Rahman led dedicated sessions on the Bangladesh stock market, the fundamentals of investing, and market analysis. Fintra's research team demonstrated the basics of fundamental and technical analysis through practical examples, while Imtiaz Alam Choudhury, EVP, and Yeasin Arafat Abid, JAVP of FINTRA Securities Limited, presented analytical insights from the firm.

Core discussion points included investment basics, asset classes, an overview of fundamental and technical analysis, and a real-time market case study applying these frameworks, followed by a portfolio simulation game and quiz. The session closed with a dedicated introduction to real market and paper trading, providing students with a practical, risk-free environment to apply what they had learned.

Structured as an open discussion, the seminar encouraged active student participation during the Q&A session. Questions covered a broad spectrum, from financial and share market basics to common investment myths and strategies for applying classroom knowledge to real-life financial decisions.

At its core, "Investing, Explained" underscores a mutual priority for both organizers: educating the next generation of investors.
