Yunus, ICC discuss ways to file crimes against humanity case in July-Aug massacre    

International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Karim A.A. Khan has met Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus and shared their "common vision" to strengthen Bangladesh-ICC cooperation and ensure accountability for crimes committed against the Rohingya people. They held the meeting on the sidelines of the UNGA yesterday (26 September).


12 city corporation, 323 municipality councillors removed

Councillors of 12 city corporations and 323 municipalities of the country have been removed. The decision was announced in a notification by the Local Government Division, under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, issued yesterday (26 September).


400 Indian visa applications reviewed in August    

Despite the indefinite suspension of visa services for citizens of Bangladesh, the Union Home Ministry examined over 400 visa applications in particular categories from the neighboring nation in August. The Indian Visa Application Centers in Bangladesh have been processing a restricted number of visas for students and urgent medical needs for the last two months.


Israeli strikes kill 92 in Lebanon in past 24 hours

Israeli strikes have killed 92 people in Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the country's health ministry said late Thursday. The ministry said in a series of statements that Israeli raids killed 40 people in towns and villages in the south, 48 in two eastern regions and four in the east of central Mount Lebanon Governorate.


Bangladesh ratifies landmark agreement on sustainable use of marine biological diversity

Bangladesh has formally ratified the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) concerning the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement).
