The court today ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to probe the allegation and submit a report.

The other accused in the case are Mannafi's son and councilor Ahmed Imtiyaj Gourab, former sub-inspector (SI) of Wari Police Station Jyoti, former officer in-charge (OC) Rafikul Islam, former OC (investigation) Md Selim, SI Rezaul, police informer Mosharraf,  inspector Mahbub, SI Zakir Hossain, Gourab's APS Mintu, Wari thana AL president Ashikur Rahman Chowdhury, AL leader Khandaker Mainul Islam Jewel, Abdur Rahman, Gourab's uncle Russel, Dipu Chaklader, Faruk Hawlader, Nasima Begum, Md Mohiuddin, Kalam and Musa.

According to the case documents, Rakib Hawlader was detained by a team of Wari Police on 4 April 2018. Rita Akter went to the police station, where SI Jyoti confirmed that Rakib was in their custody and to be released later.

Rita again went to the police station cladding herself in burkha in the middle of the night, and saw her son behind bars.
