Two Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were killed in a head-on collision between a BGB truck and a clothes-laden truck in Rajshahi's Godagari upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased are Lance Nayek Jobayer and Lance Nayek Sayeed.

"Lance Nayek Jobayer died on the spot while Lance Nayek Sayeed passed away at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital," said Khairul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Godagari Police Station.

Twelve members of BGB 59 Battalion and nine members of BGB 53 Battalion were heading towards Dinajpur from Chapainawabganj to participate in a training programme when they met the accident at College More (intersection) in Godagari, the OC said.

Nineteen other BGB members had sustained slight injuries, he added.
