The National Identity Card (NID) services have been suspended from tomorrow (21 August).

According to a notification issued today (20 August), Election Commission (EC) employees will begin a work abstention and sit-in protest with their two-point demand in front of the EC building from 8am on tomorrow morning.

Their two-point demand includes transferring the NID department from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the EC and granting permanent employment to all employees of the IDEA-2 project, from grades 9 to 20.
