Number of voters in Bangladesh reaches 12.83 crore
The voters include 6,52,12,731 men, 6,31,09,266 women and 1,243 transgender persons.
The number of voters in Bangladesh has now reached 12.83 crore, over six lakh higher than the electorate recorded during the 12 February general election.
The total number of voters is 12,83,23,240 in the country, according to the final updated data prepared by the Election Commission today (May 14).
The voters include 6,52,12,731 men, 6,31,09,266 women and 1,243 transgender persons.
On 18 November 2025, the Election Commission released the updated electoral rolls ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.
As per that electoral rolls, the number of voters was 12,76,95,183 during the 12 February general election. Of them, 6,48,14,907 are male voters, while 6,28,79,042 are female voters and 1,234 are transgender voters.
So, the latest data showed the number of the country's voters increased by 6,28,057.
EC used to publish the draft electoral rolls on 2 January and the final electoral rolls on 2 March every year in the past. However, the Electoral Rolls Act, 2009 was amended in 2025 to empower the commission to publish the voter lists any time of the year, reports UNB.
