Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President Hasanul Haq Inu has seen a significant surge in his cash assets over the past decade, soaring from Tk6.85 lakh during the 10th parliament election in 2014 to Tk3.56 crore at present, as per affidavits submitted to the election office. This marks a remarkable 52-fold increase in his cash holdings.

Simultaneously, the cash holdings of his wife, Afroza Haq, have also witnessed a notable increase during this period. She currently has Tk1.62 crore in cash, which was Tk60.03 lakh five years ago and Tk6.38 lakh ten years ago. This means, her cash holdings have increased more than 25 times in a decade.

Hasanul Haque Inu has served as a member of parliament for three consecutive terms, representing the Kushtia-2 (Mirpur-Bheramara) constituency. Additionally, he held the position of Information Minister in the past.

In his affidavit, Inu identifies himself as a political activist and engineer. The primary sources of his income include trading, salary, dividends from banks and other financial institutions, as well as earnings from TV talk shows.

According to the information provided in his affidavit, Inu declared an annual income of Tk33.74 lakh. This includes Tk7.62 lakh from business, Tk23.96 lakh from salary and allowances, and Tk2.16 lakh from TV talk shows and bank interests. During the 11th parliament election, his annual income was Tk34.61 lakh, representing an increase from Tk26.36 lakh a decade ago.

The quantity of gold ornaments owned by Inu has remained unchanged over the past decade. In 1974, he received 25 bhories of gold as gifts, and to this day, he still possesses the same amount. However, there has been an increase in the gold ornaments owned by his wife. As per the latest affidavit, Afroza Haq now possesses 40 bhories of gold.

Apart from gold, Hasanul Haque Inu owns a jeep valued at Tk4 lakh. Additionally, he has a plot measuring 10 katha in the Purbachal area of the capital, with a declared value of Tk16.10 lakh. The information of the plot was also mentioned in the affidavits of the 10th and 11th national polls.
