'Wrong location mentioned as my home address. Fix it,' Inu asks cops during hearing
Inu, Palak, Momtaz shown arrested in fresh cases

While being produced for a hearing at a Dhaka court today, former information minister and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haq Inu told police that a wrong location was mentioned as the address of his residence in the case filed against him, and he asked to fixing it.
"My home address is written incorrectly in the case. Please write it correctly. Otherwise, letters addressing me will not reach properly," Inu told a police member at the court premises, while was being produced from Dhaka Central Jail.
Inu, along with former ICT state minister Palak, was produced before the court of Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam Sohag from Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj around 10am.
In addition, former Manikganj-2 MP and singer Momtaz Begum was produced before the same court for a hearing in two cases, from Kashimpur Jail around 8:30am.
The trio – who were part of the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's cabinet – were seen chatting while appearing at the dock and inquiring about one another's well-being.
Pointing towards the lawyers present at the courtroom, Palak also asked them to pray for him.
After respective hearings, the court showed the three arrested in fresh cases filed at Dhaka's Ashulia police station in connection with crimes committed during last year's July uprising.
Inu and Palak were shown arrested in a case filed over the murder of Russel Gazi in Dhaka's Ashulia during an anti-discrimination student movement protest, while Momtaz was shown arrested in two cases filed at the same police station.
The investigation officer in the Russel Gazi murder case, Ashulia police station Sub-Inspector Md Anwar Hossain filed a plea seeking to show Inu and Palak arrested in the case, which was accepted by the court.
Besides, Momtaz was shown arrested in two cases filed over the murder of cloth trader Moniruzzaman and the attempted murder of Farhad Hossain during the anti-discrimination student movement.
The investigation officer in the first case, Sub-Inspector Mozibur Rahman Bhuiyan and in the second case, Sub-Inspector Madan Chandra Saha, filed the applications separately to show Momtaz arrested in the cases, which was accepted by the court.
After the hearing, Inu, Palak and Momtaz were sent back to lockup.
As per the statements of the cases, Russel Gazi, 27, a protester, died in a firing allegedly by Awami League activists at Gazirchat area of Ashulia around on 5 August last year.
Besides, cloth trader Moniruzzaman died on 10 January this year from the injuries he sustained during a firing by Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League activists during a protest on 5 August.
In addition, a protester Farhad Hossain, sustained bullet injuries from police firing during a protest at Asulia police station on 4 August. He filed an attempted murder case on 29 September.
Inu was arrested on 15 August last year and Palak on 26 August. They were remanded in various cases filed on murder, attempted murder and corruption charges. Momtaz was arrested on 13 May this year. She has various cases filed against her on murder and attempted murder, among other charges.
