A patient who fled from the isolation ward of Pabna hospital was held from Hakimpur Upazila in Dinajpur and put under home quarantine on Thursday.

The patient was identified as Mostak Al Mamun, 25, son of Anisur Rahman of Madhabpara village in the upazila.

Mahabubur Rahman, Inspector of Hakimpur Police Station, said Mostak was sent to Pabna Sadar Hospital on April 5 as he was suffering from fever, cold and cough during his stay with his in-laws in Bera upazila.

He fled from the isolation ward two days later and returned home, he said.

Hakimpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdur Rafiul Alam said Mostak and his family members have been kept in-home quarantine although he has no coronavirus symptom.

Sources at Pabna Hospital said they collected samples from Mostak and sent them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for coronavirus test.
