The latest report on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's physical condition has reached the office of the Registrar General of the Supreme Court. An official of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) delivered the report on Wednesday morning.

Special Officer of the Supreme Court, Mohammad Saifur Rahman, confirmed the matter. A hearing on this report is due tomorrow.

As per the medical board's recommendation, the Appellate Division ordered 'advanced treatment' for Khaleda last December. But Khaleda Zia did not agree to receive the treatment, said Anti-Corruption Commission's lawyer, Khurshid Alam Khan.

However, Khaleda's lawyer Zainul Abedin said, "If the report given by BSMMU is not satisfactory, then Khaleda Zia will be requested to appear in the High Court physically."

On February 23, the High Court directed BSMMU to submit the latest report on Khaleda Zia's health by 5pm Wednesday.

The court ordered the vice-chancellor (VC) of BSMMU to submit the report without fail to the registrar general of the Supreme Court by the given time.

The bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque issued the order after hearing Khaleda Zia's bail plea in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
