3rd death anniversary of Suranjit Sengupta observed

The third death anniversary of former law maker and Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta was observed in the capital on Wednesday, says a press release.

Sunamganj Samity Dhaka arranged the event at the National Press Club. 

The program was presided over by Sujat Ahmed Chowdhury and moderated by Adv Koniz Rehenuma Rabbani, General Secretary of Sunamganj Samity Dhaka.

National leaders, leaders of Sunamganj Samity Dhaka, lawyers' representatives, journalists and respected people were also present.

Speakers highlighted the life and works of Suranjit Sengupta at the event.  

Suranjit Sengupta was the sub-sector commander of the Great Liberation War Movement, one of the founders of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. He actively participated in every turn of national politics. He was elected a Member of Parliament seven times.

Bangladesh Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim, MP was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Environment, Forests and Climate Change affairs Minister Shahab Uddin, MP, Nurul Islam Nahid, MP, State Minister for Information Murad Hasan, MP, Professor Ali Ashraf, MP, A.K.M. Shahjahan Kamal MP, Mahibur Rahman Manik, MP, Engr. Moazzem Hossain Ratan, MP, Abdul Majid Khan, MP, Gazi Mohammad Shahnawaz, MP, Organising Secretary of  Awami League Ahmed Hossain, Bangladesh Women's Awami League president Safia Khatun, Supreme Court Bar Association President  Adv. Amin Uddin and prominent industrialist UM Ashek, among others, were present at the event.
