Over 55% of examinees pass MBBS entrance test – women outshine men
Last year, 39.86% of examinees passed the MBBS test
A total of 79,337 candidates have passed the MBBS admission test for the academic year 2021-2022, that is, 55.13% of all candidates who took the test.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque unveiled the results at a press briefing in the Health Service Division's conference room at 1pm on Tuesday.
Of the 79,337 students who passed the test, 44,504 (56.09%) are women and 34,833 (43.90%) are men.

As many as 139,742 students participated in this year's examination.
On the basis of national merit, students were selected for admission to 37 government medical colleges for a total of 4,350 seats.. The number of seats in private medical colleges is 6,489.
Candidate Sumaiya Muslem Mim got the highest score of 92.5. She sat for the exam from the Khulna Medical College Centre.
Female candidates are ahead of males in admission to government medical colleges. 2,345 women and 1,885 men will have the opportunity to study in government medical colleges.
The health minister said this year's exams went very smoothly and the results were released in due time. "We have not received any allegations of irregularities regarding these tests,'' he added.
Last year 48,975 applicants passed the admission test, of whom the first 4,350 candidates on the merit list were selected for the 2020-2021 academic session. The pass rate was 39.86%.
