PS of CU vice-chancellor suspended over teacher recruitment scandal
The university authorities formed a high-powered committee to investigate the incident on 5 March
Two employees of Chattogram University including private secretary of the vice chancellor have been suspended over a phone call leak incident concerning irregularities in teacher recruitment process.
The university administration took this action on Thursday almost two weeks after the phone conversation was leaked to the media. The matter has been confirmed by Professor SM Monirul Hasan, registrar (acting) of the university.
"The two accused in connection with the phone leak have been suspended. Earlier they were asked to show cause and they responded. Further investigation into the matter is underway," he said.

According to sources, five phone conversations related to money transactions and other irregularities concerning the recruitment of lecturers in the Persian Language and Literature department of the university.
In one of the phone conversations, the private secretary of the VC Khaled Misbahul was heard talking to a candidate for the post of lecturer about money transactions, sources said.
In another leaked conversation, a university employee mentioned that the vice-chancellor needs money to 'manage' the top people of the government departments concerned.
The other employee suspended over the incidents is named Ahmed Hossain.
