Rajshahi city police set up oxygen bank for Covid-19 patients

The Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has set up a "Police Covid Oxygen Bank" to provide oxygen assistance to the city's Covid-19 patients, as needed, for free.

Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique inaugurated the initiative at the city's police headquarters on Tuesday afternoon.

At the inauguration, the police commissioner said, "though the Covid-19 oxygen bank started with 50 oxygen cylinders, it will soon be increased to 100."

Commissioner Abu Kalam said that if a person suffering from Covid-19 related breathing complications, or one of his relatives, calls the control room on 01320-063998 and asks for emergency oxygen assistance, a police official will immediately deliver an oxygen cylinder to the patient's doorstep.

Abu Kalam added that RMP has dedicated and trained 10 police personnel on the manning and use of these cylinders to provide emergency service to patients.
