Dhaka metropolitan police (DMP) detective branch (DB) Joint Commissioner, Harun Ur Rashid, says Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir will also be arrested by DB if Gulshan police provides DB with an arrest 'requisition'.

Harun Ur Rashid made the statement on Monday afternoon, responding to questions from reporters following the arrest of the primary accused in the rape and attempt to murder case of actress Pori Moni.

Joint Commissioner Harun Aur Rashid said, "Despite the case being filed with Savar police, we could swiftly arrest the accused from his home in Uttara as they gave us a requisition to arrest."

Recently, police arrested five people, including the principal accused, Nasir Uddin Mahmud, within 24 hours, on charges of rape and the attempted murder of Actress Pori Moni. Since this Pori Moni incident, there has been fresh talk about progress in another case, i.e. the investigation of the Munia suicide incitement case.

As it currently stands, the investigating officers of Munia's 'suicide incitement' case have been unable to complete their investigation, even after a month and a half of the incident. Accused Bashundhara Group MD, Sayem Sobhan Anvir, is yet to be questioned by the authorities in this regard.

On April 26, police recovered the body of a young woman named Mosarat Jahan Munia from a flat in Gulshan. Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir was charged on the very night of the incident, in a case of 'incitement to suicide,' on behalf of Munia's family.
