Domestic help confesses to torturing 2-yr-old child

Domestic help Shahida alias Taznara confessed to torturing a two-year-old child for several times in absence of his parents in capital's Shahjahanpur area.

She made the confession after being produced before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansari on Monday (Nov 25).

Court sources said that Shahida claimed that she had boiled water for washing clothes. At the moment the child, Aayat, made several attempts to touch the hot water.

"Consequently, I kicked the child and the video went viral," she confessed to the court.

On November 15, Al Amin, the father of the child, filed a case with the Shahjahanpur police station against the domestic help Shahida.

Police on November 16 arrested the lone accused.

The video of the horrific torture which went viral on social media portrays a housemaid in the capital's Shajahanpur area kicking repeatedly a two-year-old child of a working couple in their absence at home.

Closed-circuit-television footage shows a woman throwing a baby from the bathroom to a room. Then the woman kicked the weeping baby for several times.
