EducationUSA to host sessions on higher education opportunities abroad at EMK Center this week

EducationUSA will be hosting two sessions at EMK Center of Dhaka for both students and their parents to enlighten them on higher education opportunities abroad.

The sessions will be held virtually on zoom on 29 May and 2-3 June, respectively, reads a press release. 

Over 8,800 Bangladeshi students are studying in the United States in the 2019-20 academic year and more than a thousand students received scholarships and financial aid while applying.

More than 1400 US Universities have made some of the tests including SAT and ACT optional for fall 2022 admission, which made the application process less time consuming and more flexible.

Information session on higher study with parents

There are some misconceptions among the parents that often stop them from allowing their children to look for higher education opportunities abroad. 

With a view to addressing these misconceptions and helping them to know the EducationUSA of EMK Center will host an information session on higher study with parents.

During the session, the EducationUSA Adviser Razoun Siddiky will inform them about the easy-to-use, accurate and comprehensive resources on the application requirements for the US universities.

He will inform them on how to find information regarding test score requirement for SAT, ACT, IELTS or TOEFL, and how to find a university and scholarship opportunities and what financial documents are required to apply for that. 

The session will take place virtually on 29 May, 2021, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM over Zoom. 

Registration process will be open till 29 May, 10 AM. To complete the registration process, participants are requested to visit: https://forms.gle/pSJmjDmFB8PhdYfdA.

Workshop on suggestions for IELTS

EducationUSA at the EMK Center will also be offering a free IELTS workshop, in collaboration with the British Council, to provide students with complete preparation strategies and tips for the test.

Students are encouraged to join the workshop, which will start from 2 June and will continue till 3 June, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM on both days. 

The 2-day-long IELTS workshop will help to familiarise the participants with the IELTS test format and will help them to strategize for a better IELTS test score. 

Ms Murshida Begum, IELTS Expert of British Council, will be conducting the workshop.

Participants can register till 10 AM of 2 June, 2021. EMK Center will send the zoom link to the registered participants prior to the event.
