BSF DG terms border killings ‘unwanted deaths’

Responding to journalists asking about border killings on the Bangladesh-India border, the Director General (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF) India Rajni Kant Misra said that he did not agree with the term ‘border killing’. He used the term ‘unwanted death’ instead.

But the BSF DG later acknowledged that ‘unwanted death’ in border areas had increased lately.

Misra claimed BSF only resorted to use of force to protect themselves having used up all other alternatives. “Human life is very important to us. All the incidents took place on Indian land and BSF members also lost their lives,” he said.
