Institute of Water Modeling (IWM) on Wednesday has organised a conference titled 'Challenges of Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100: Role of IWM' at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre of the capital. 

In the conference, IWM exchanged opinions with their users and let them know about their initiatives and experiences.

Attending the program as the chief guest, Zaheed Farooque MP, state minister of the ministry of water resources said that IWM's mathematical model has played a significant role in solving various complex water problems in the country and abroad.

Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources Kabir Bin Anwar chaired the conference. He thanked the service recipients of IWM for using the mathematical models. He also presented a paper titled 'Salient Features of Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100'.

In the technical session, Professor Dr M Monowar Hossain, executive director of IWM directed the conference paper presentation followed by a discussion by the designated discussants. 

Abu Saleh Khan, deputy executive director (Operations) of IWM presented a paper titled 'State of the Art Mathematical Modelling, Survey & ICT-GIS in Water Resources Development of Bangladesh'.  

High officials, experts and decision-makers from the relevant ministries, development partners, representatives from different government and non-government organisations from home and abroad were present among the guests.
