Despite the local administration's warning over cyclone Bulbul, people in Khulna were not going to shelter centres, said related sources.

On Saturday, overcast sky and light rainfall accompanied by slow wind prevailed over Khulan's Sharankhola and Morrelganj upazilas.

Bulbul, the cyclonic storm, is likely to hit Khulna coast at Saturday midnight after making landfall in India's West Bengal around 10pm, said the meteorological department.

Local people are not paying much heed to the volunteers' advice to move to shelter centres. A total of 116 shelter centres remained almost empty in Koyra upazila, said Md Mahmudul Hasan, manager of Jagrata Juba Shangha's Coastal Community Resilience Project.
