He set the new national record scoring 704 erasing the previous record of 700 held by Sheikh Sojib.

Bangladesh Police's archer Asim Kumar Das set the new national and Games record in the compound men's event archery of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games held on Sunday at the Archery Training Center of Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.

He set the new national record scoring 704 erasing the previous record of 700 held by Sheikh Sojib.

Besides, Himu Bachar of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan finished second scoring 687 while Sohel Rana of Dhaka Army Archery Club and Mohammad Asikuzzaman of Bangladesh Police finished third and the fourth position after scoring 684 and 683 respectively in this event.

A total of 175  men's and women's archers from 41 teams including different district sports associations, services associations, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and clubs from across the country are taking part in the recurve and compound division.
