Bangladesh win gold in Asian archery after six years
This marks Bangladesh’s first gold medal at the Asian Archery Championships in six years.

Abdur Rahman Alif brought home gold for Bangladesh in the men's recurve individual event at the Asian Archery Championships. In the final, held today in Singapore, Alif defeated Japan's Gakuto Miyata 6–4 on set points.
This marks Bangladesh's first gold medal at the Asian Archery Championships in six years. The last time Bangladesh topped the podium was in 2019, when Roman Sana won gold in the third leg of the Asia Cup Archery.
Alif had already secured a medal after defeating Chen Pin-An of Chinese Taipei 6–4 in the semi-final on Tuesday. With his win over Miyata in the final, he ensured the top prize.
The final itself was a closely fought contest. Alif scored 28 to Miyata's 27 in the first set, and then 29 to 28 in the second. Miyata bounced back to win the next two sets, levelling the match at 4–4 after four sets.
With the tension at its peak, the decisive fifth set began. Alif held his nerve and shot 29, while Miyata could only manage 26 — handing the gold medal to the Bangladeshi archer.
