Members of Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Monday detained a Saudi-bound passenger with 10,000 pieces of Yaba pills hidden in special jars of pickles. 

Alamgir Hossain, additional superintendent of APBn confirmed that the arrestee - Rakib Hossain, 31 - was detained from the airport's departure terminal around 3:30 am.

Acting upon a tip, members of APBn challenged Rakibul and recovered 9,885 pieces of Yaba pills worth Tk 50 lakh in two large jars of tamarind pickle.

During interrogation, he said that a person named Nazmul, 30, from a travel agency had given him the jar.  

A case was filed against the detainee and others at the airport police station under the Narcotics Control Act at 11 am on Monday.
