A sedition case has been filed against four BNP leaders, including Mizanur Rahman Minu, with a Rajshahi court over remarks on "repeating 1975 assassination".

After hearing today, Rajshahi Chief Metropolitan Court judge Saiful Islam took the case into cognizance. 

The three others accused are- Ruhul Kuddus Talukder, BNP's organising secretary, Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, president of Rajshahi city unit BNP, Shafiqul Haque Milon, general secretary of the unit.

Advocate Aslam Sarker, organising secretary of city unit Awami League, presented the case before the court on Tuesday.

AHM Khairuzzman Liton, president of AL's Rajshahi city unit, also Rajshahi City Corporation mayor, along with other top leaders were present in the court. 

On 9 March, Musabbirul Islam, the law affairs secretary of Rajshahi city AL unit, had filed a complaint with District Magistrate Abdul Jalil seeking the government's approval for filing a sedition case against Minu and three others over remarks on "repeating 1975 assassination".

Later on Monday night, the district magistrate got the approval from the home ministry to take the case into cognizance.
