BYS to host Girls’ Summit on 8 March 

Barishal Youth Society (BYS) in partnership with Plan International Bangladesh will launch the first-ever Girls Summit of southern Bangladesh. 

The inauguration will take place on 8 March on the occasion of International Women's Day in Hotel Graver Inn, Kuakata, said a press release. 

The Summit titled 'Achieving Excellence in Girl's Leadership' is aimed to empower and building knowledge and capacity of 50 girls from the Barishal division in this 3 day-long training.

This auspicious event will involve key individuals like national and international delegates, representatives of Plan International, Government officials, corporate personnel, and leaders from several girls-led organisations. 

The summit will bring together the girls and young women from different girl-led organizations of the Barishal division, work in their capacity building and empower them to work for girls' rights.

The summit will intensively engage the girls, provide guidelines and grant seed funds to all teams to execute and run their campaign plans in the community and after the summit, they will have mentorship program spanning one month for additional support for ensuring the practice of learning on the community level after the summit.

BYS Executive Director Faez Belal reflected that the summit will help in girls' capacity building.
