Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Friday submitted a chargesheet against nine people, including a Chhatra League leader, on allegation of attacking the convoy of former US ambassador Marcia Bernicat.

According to the chargesheet, the attack took place 'on the assumption of anti-government conspiracy' at Citizens for Good Governance (Shujan) Secretary Badiul Alam Majumder's residence. Marcia Bernicat attended dinner there on 4 August in 2018.

Though the chargesheet was filed on 18 January, the information came to light Friday. DB police had filed the chargesheet with the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court, reports Prothom Alo.
