Abrar was killed over suspected Shibir affiliation: DB police

The Detective Branch investigation has found evidence that Buet student Abrar Fahad was murdered on suspicion of his affiliation with the Islamic Chhatra Shibir – the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

Investigators will submit the charge sheet in the murder case by the first week of November, said DB Additional Commissioner Abdul Baten.

"Eyewitnesses, Buet canteen staff, teachers and others have given depositions under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure," the police official said at a press conference at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's media centre in the capital.
