Shakib returns to KKR for ₹3.20crore

Shakib previously played six seasons for KKR since 2011 and helped them win a few titles by contributing with both bat and ball, especially in the 2014 season.

Shakib returns to KKR for ₹3.20crore

Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the Kolkata Knight Riders tent for another season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

Shakib was sold to KKR for ₹3,20,00,000 after a war of bid between KKR and Kings XI Panjab. 

Shakib previously played six seasons for KKR since 2011 and helped them win a few titles by contributing with both bat and ball, especially in the 2014 season. He was released by the franchise in 2018 where he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Shakib was released by the Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the 2020 IPL auction after playing for 2 seasons.

Shakib has played 63 matches in IPL, 43 of them for KKR and 20 for SRH. He has scored 746 runs and picked up 59 wickets in his IPL stint so far.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mustafizur Rahman will also be auctioned today.

Apart from Shakib, Steven Smith has been picked by Delhi Capitals while Moeen Ali will play for Chennai Super Kings. Aaron Finch, Evin Lewis, Jason Roy, Alex Hales are some of the notable unsold players so far.
