The probe body has been asked to submit the investigation report within seven working days.

A fire broke out in the Dhansagar station area under Chandpai range of the Sundarbans East Zone on Monday afternoon.

The fire was brought under control about four and a half hours after it broke out.

East Sundarbans DFO Md Belayet Hossain told The Business Standard that about four percent of the forest has been burnt in the fire. "However, it did not cause any major damage to the forest," he added.

He noted that the actual cause of the fire will be known from the probe body report. "We will take action accordingly," he said.
