Pathao launches week-long road safety programme
Pathao will also distribute 6,000 helmets among the drivers
Pathao, one of the most popular ride-sharing platforms in the country, is launching a week-long public awareness-raising programme for road safety, starting today.
Pathao and Access to Information (a2i) jointly organised a programme titled "Safety first" at a city hotel, marking the National Road Safety Day.
Under the programme, poorly-rated drivers (according to pathao app) will be given special safety training and their eyes will be examined at different points of the capital.

Pathao will also distribute 6,000 helmets among the drivers.
Addressing the programme, Pathao Chief Executive Officer Hussain Md Elias urged the drivers not to drive bikes recklessly, or when tired.
Cricketer and the Brand ambassador of Pathao, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, urged drivers and commuters not to take a ride without using the app. "It can be very dangerous for both."
Pathao will also distribute 6,000 helmets among the drivers.
ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak was also present in the event and he said, "The entire population of Bangladesh should be conscious about road safety around the year and not just for one day of the year."
