Popular film actor Shama tries to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge one night. Before jumping off, she goes live from her social media account one last time.

The moment she is about to jump from the bridge, somebody grabs her from the back and both of them fall on the ground.

An angry Shama gets up and asks him, "You're my biggest fan, aren't you? That's why you came to save me after watching the live."
The guy replies, "I have no idea who you are, I came to pick up my friend's cap which I mistakenly left on the bridge."

Obviously, Shama gets surprised and mad at him simultaneously, as she is always surrounded by fans and journalists. But Shama has never met anybody in her life who does not know her.

This is the opening scene of "What the Fry". This film sheds light on the fake lives people have on social media in a sarcastic manner. For example, in the opening scene, when the very famous actor says that this would be her last video or live, her innumerable fans do not ask why she is at the bridge late at night.

The film is a reminder to find the true meaning of life through reality and calmness.

Directed by national award-winning director Anam Biswas, this quirky short is the second Bangladeshi original film by OTT platform Zee5.
This independently produced film brings out some of the finest performances by Bidya Sinha Mim, Pritom Hasan, Sakib Bin Rashid and Iresh Zaker.

The film's story revolves around a suicidal film-star Shama, played by Bidya Sinha Mim, who meets software developer Bashar, played by singer-actor Pritom Hasan, one fateful night.

Shama's world revolves around social media while Bashar lives rooted in reality. As the completely paradoxical worlds of Shama and Bashar collide, the journey of finding true love in an era of superficiality takes its own course.

As Shama, Mim's performance feels authentic and she portrays the role of an absolute firebrand, intelligent and impulsive person. Mim's costume and make-up complemented her character as well.

On the other hand, Bashar is a simple, straight-forward and minimalistic guy. Pritom Hasan as Bashar delivered a powerful performance.
Bashar's friend, Johnny, is a purely entertaining character in the film. Sakib Bin Rashid plays Johnny, who delivers some of the wittiest dialogues for the viewers to burst out in a fit of laughter.

Iresh Zaker appears as a guest character of Shama's dominating lover in the film. Although he did not have much screen time, he managed to deliver a strong performance in a short time.

Set against the backdrop of Old Dhaka, the film captures the essence of the old town and its lifestyle.

Nehal Quaraisy was behind the camera as the cinematographer.

The 49-minute-long short was released on January 9 on Zee5 and viewers can stream it for free from the platform.
