Asus Zephyrus M: A beast with slim edges

In the gaming laptop market, ASUS is one of the few brands that keeps on refining its laptops. Whenever we think of gaming laptops, most of us visualize a machine that has wild body graphics or gaping vents surrounded by RGB lighting to enforce the presence.

However, this time ASUS has started a new era with the launching of its ASUS ROG Zephyrus M GU502G, which has a very practical design like any other premium laptops. It gives more comfort while using it outdoors and it can be easily carried around in a backpack.

Design and display

ASUS Zephyrs M GU502G is one of the slimmest and lightest gaming laptops, it weighs just 1.9 kilograms. It is available in the color black. It has soft-touch plastic on the keyboard deck and a brushed metal like design on the lid. To boost up the styling, it has an engraved metallic ROG logo on its rear side.

Weighing less than other gaming laptops and being quite slim, ASUS has not compromised on the build quality. It has a conventional design which draws attention whether it is opened or closed. Although the bottom bezel is rather huge, the side edges and the slim bezels around the top give it a premium look. Surprisingly, there is no webcam, which could be an issue for streamers.

In one word, the display is incredible! With 15.6-inch full HD IPS LCD panel that comes with a support for Pantone colors, the display also supports 100 percent sRGB colors. It gives a very vibrant screen with high brightness and wide viewing angles. The 144Hz refresh rate ensures smoother videos and while playing games, it gives an edge over other screens with 60Hz refresh rate.

Ports and audio

There are plenty of ports in this laptop to connect your gamepads. On the right side, there is one USB 3.1 port and one USB Type-C port. On the left side, there is a USB 3.1 port, an HDMI port, the mic and the headset jacks.

The audio system of the laptop is average, the speakers are not loud enough. Therefore, it is always good to have good headphones on for better sound quality and concentration while playing.

Keyboard and touchpad

The keys are individually backlit and the touchpad is accurate, responsive and smooth

Performance & Battery Life:

The laptop boosts with a 9th generation Core i7 Intel processors and with it we get 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage. The laptop is perfectly fine for day to day use and the GTX 1660 Ti can easily run the latest games at highest graphics but at slightly lower screen resolution.

Gaming laptops never had great battery life but according to ASUS the battery life on ROG Zephyrus M is estimated to last around 6 hours where others laptops last for around 3-4 hours.

This thin and lightweight beast costs around Tk3 lacs. But, if we think deeply it is actually worthy enough as it is a complete package for gamers in the means of performance, style and comfort.
