Directorate General of Family Planning celebrates Victory Day

The Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) celebrated the 50th Victory Day with due respect to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country during the Liberation War in 1971.

To mark the day, special prayers and discussion were arranged in the conference room of the DGFP on Wednesday, says a press release.

DGFP director general Sahan Ara Banu presided over the discussion titled 'Building the Golden Bangla Dreamt by the Father of the Nation, Holding the Spirit of the Liberation War and Achieving National Prosperity through the Best Use of Digital Technology'.

Freedom fighter Dr Md Sirajul Islam was the key discussant at the programme.

Directors, deputy directors and officials of various units of the DGFP were also present, among others.

Maternal, child and adolescent friendly health services in the context of Covid-19 was also discussed at the programme. 

At the programme, prizes have been distributed among 15 winners of the Victory Day essay competition.

Officials of the Department of Health Education and Family Welfare and other departments virtually joined the event.

Secretary to Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Md Ali Nur, the DGFP Director General and other staff also placed a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation installed at the DGFP premises.
