The country's leading super shop Shwapno has purchased 15,000 kilograms of radishes from the farmers of Lalmonirhat district on Sunday.

The farmers of Lalmonirhat were in a spot of trouble with their produced radishes, which fetched low prices and faced reduced market demand as well.

Shwapno employees bought the radishes in cash from farmers at the Haribhanga area of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.

Md Majmul Haque, a concerned farmer about the market potential of his radishes, said, "Agriculture is my only means of livelihood. This time I had a good yield. But the price is so low that I wasn't able to recover my production costs."

He continued, "Meanwhile, the potato cultivation season is also coming to an end. After learning about our situation through the newspapers, Shwapno stood by our side. We are happy to sell them our radishes directly."

Moinul Islam, another troubled farmer, said. "With Shwapno's support, we will be able to produce profitable crops in the near future. We won't have to count our losses if we get a reliable market for our produce."

He thanked Shwapno family for standing by them.

Sajjadul Haque, head of purchase at Shwapno, said, "Shwapno stands by producers and farmers in all circumstances. We bought products directly from farmers across the country during the coronavirus period. This time we chose to stand by the farmers of Lalmonirhat."
