Fire at another slum in Dhaka

Hours after dozens of shanties gutted in Mohakhali area, another fire broke out at another slum in Bihari Patti area of Mohammadpur in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
Anisur Rahman, operator at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room, said the fire originated there at 4:15pm. Ten fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 5pm.
"The extent of damage and cause behind the fire are yet to be ascertained," he added.

Earlier on Monday night, fire broke out at Sattola slum in Mohakhali area around 11:47pm and burned more than 50 shanties into ashes within few minutes.
