Police later escorted five representatives of the protesters to the Chancery, where the Head of Chancery and Second Secretary received the memorandum.
In the memorandum, they urged the Bangladesh government to ensure the security of minorities during Durga Puja and beyond and ensure justice and the earliest possible release of Chinmoy Krishna Das.
The representatives also thanked Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for allocating additional funds for Durga Puja and extending the holiday to five days.
The demonstration ended peacefully. As the programme had prior permission, the Bangladesh mission took security measures in coordination with local authorities.
