Zarif Abrar, Sumaiya Akter win Shovon Jamaly Open singles titles
The Shovon Jamaly Open Tennis Tournament 2026 ended at the National Tennis Complex in Ramna, Dhaka, with Zarif Abrar and Sumaiya Akter winning the men's and women's singles titles, respectively.
The eight-day tournament, organised by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF) and sponsored by LYFE, featured men's and women's singles and doubles, according to the press release.
In the men's singles final, Zarif defeated Khabbo Gayen 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 to clinch the title after a three-set contest.

Sumaiya won the women's singles crown by defeating Jannatun Ferdous Mitu 6-2, 7-5 in the final.
Zarif and Khabbo later teamed up to win the men's doubles title, beating Mohammad Rana and Md Rafiqul Islam Joy 6-4, 6-2.
In the women's doubles final, Sumaiya partnered Susmita Sen to defeat Jannatun Ferdous Mitu and Jannat Howlader 6-2, 6-4.
The tournament ran from 18 to 25 September and brought together players across four open categories.
The organisers thanked the players for their performances and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
They also acknowledged title sponsor LYFE, umpires and officials, ball kids, ground staff, volunteers, the medical team and media partners for their support in staging the event.
Coaches, parents and spectators who attended the matches or followed the competition online were also thanked for their support.
The Bangladesh Tennis Federation officials and organising committee were recognised for their work in preparing and conducting the tournament.
The organisers said the Shovon Jamaly Open is expected to return in 2027.
