Mohakhali commercial building fire brought under control within an hour

A fire broke out on the roof of a four-storey building in Mohakhali and was brought under control by 11:40am.
The fire started among abandoned plastic materials on the roof. An electrical substation is located on the third floor of the building.
Fire Service received the report at 11:12am and sent four units from Tejgaon and Kurmitola fire stations to the scene.

However, none of the units had reached the building by 11:38am due to traffic, said Khaleda Yasmin, duty officer at the Fire Service control room.
The fire was brought under control at 11:40am after three units from Tejgaon Fire Station worked to douse it, said Fire Service.
The fire broke out shortly after another fire was reported at Apex Building in Dhanmondi.
