Islami Bank signs Tk3,000cr refinancing deal with Bangladesh Bank
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed a Tk3,000 crore refinancing agreement with Bangladesh Bank to support agriculture and rural employment and develop an effective agricultural value chain.
According to a press release, the scheme aims to develop an effective agricultural value chain by increasing production, preservation, processing and marketing, while strengthening supply chains.
Director of Bangladesh Bank's Agricultural Credit Department-2 AKM Saiduzzaman and Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of the Retail Investment Wing of Islami Bank Abu Sayeed Md Idris exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
The signing ceremony was held today (31 August) at Bangladesh Bank's head office in the presence of Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Dr Md Kabir Ahamed and Spokesperson and Executive Director Arif Hossain Khan.
Additional Directors of Bangladesh Bank Zoynal Abedin and Sakhawat Hossain, and Head of Islami Bank's Agricultural Investment Division Mohammad Aman Ullah, attended the ceremony.
Executives and officials from both organisations were also present.
