Dengue: Year's highest 672 hospitalised in a day, 2 more die
The number of dengue-related deaths in the country this year has risen to 61.
Two people died of dengue in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 672 new patients were hospitalised during the same period, marking the highest number of daily dengue admissions recorded this year.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today (9 August) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Both deaths were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation during the 24-hour period.

Among the hospitalised patients, 84 were admitted in Barishal division, 88 in Chattogram division, 66 in Dhaka division, 91 in Dhaka South City Corporation and 110 in Dhaka North City Corporation areas, 140 in Khulna division, 27 in Mymensingh division, 57 in Rajshahi division, five in Rangpur division and four in Sylhet division, a DGHS statement said.
With the latest fatalities, the number of dengue-related deaths in the country this year has risen to 61.
Meanwhile, 480 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 17,813.
The total number of dengue cases reported in the country this year has now reached 19,345.
